Hi, I’m Maryam & welcome to my kitchen!
I’m a university student living in the Netherlands, where I was born and raised in a Moroccan household. Now, with my husband, our home is a mix of Moroccan, Egyptian, and Dutch influences, which naturally finds its way into my cooking. I love bringing together flavors from the cultures that have shaped who I am and how I see food.
Cooking has always been part of my life, but I know how busy and overwhelming it can feel sometimes. Between university, family, and everything else, there are days when cooking feels more like a chore than a joy. Still, I’ve learned that even simple everyday meals can be special. They bring comfort, connection, and a sense of home.
I started MaryamCooks.com to share the meals I make for my family. Nothing fancy, just real food made with love and inspired by the mix of cultures around me. Here, you’ll find quick weeknight recipes, cozy comfort dishes, and a few favorites that remind me of both my roots and the place I now call home.
If you love food but also understand how busy life can get, I hope you find something here that makes cooking a little easier and maybe inspires you to enjoy it again.
Thanks for stopping by ❤️
— Maryam
